Positions are currently vacant for the following positions:   

Marine Stewardship Council Chain of Custody Auditors

MRAG Asia Pacific requires auditors capable of performing Marine Stewardship Council (MSC; www.msc.org) Chain of Custody (CoC) audits on an as-needed, contractual basis. The successful applicants would perform CoC audits as part of MRAG Asia Pacific’s arrangement with MRAG Americas, write reports, and help maintain client relationships.

Auditors are needed throughout the Asia Pacific Region.

MRAG Americas, is an accredited Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) that conducts audits against MSC CoC Standards. The MSC, an independent, global, non-profit organization whose role is to recognize, via a certification program, well-managed fisheries and to harness consumer preference for seafood products bearing the MSC label of approval.  

Audits will be conducted at seafood processors, distributors, retailers and restaurants to verify that seafood product identified as MSC certified originated from a certified source.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform audits (including pre-audit preparation and post-audit follow up) and write reports against the MSC’s Chain of Custody Standard and Certification Requirements using MRAG Americas’ document templates; and
  • Participate in annual training.
MRAG Asia Pacific will provide MSC-specific training.



  • Qualifications:
    • 5 years’ work experience, including 2 years in food industry, supply chain management, science, traceability, or policy development; or
    • Degree or equivalent in business, economics, science or technical programme and 3 years’ work experience including 2 years food- related in supply chain management, science, traceability, or policy development.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for short trips (typically 1-2 nights);
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, strict adherence to deadlines;
  • Good interpersonal communication skills; and
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.


  • Have undertaken four on-site MSC CoC audits or audits for equivalent standards (e.g. GFSI standards, the GlobalGAP Aquaculture Standard, or ISO 22000);
  • Qualifications:
    • Obtained a Chartered Quality Institute/International Register of Certificated Auditors’ (CQI/IRCA) or Exemplar Global-recognised lead assessor accreditation in either:
      • Environmental Management Systems (EMS);
      • Quality Management Systems (QMS);
      • Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) approved standards;
      • Hazard Analysis Critical; Control Point (HACCP);
    • Registered as an EMS/QMS auditor with CQI/IRCA or Exemplar Global; or
    • Passed a CQI/IRCA or Exemplar Global recognised course on auditing based upon ISO 19011 (which had a minimum duration of 3 days); and
  • Written and verbal fluency in a recognised Asia Pacific language other than English.
Contractors will be paid an agreed daily rate consistent with qualifications and the location of the work.
